I have a slight hangover this morning. While Jim and I waited on Judith and Chris, we ordered a cocktail. We both had smoky tequila old fashions. They were definitely smokey. The drink was brought out in a decanter full of smoke. I found it a little too sweet.

What gave me a hangover this morning is when Judith and Chris arrived, Judith order a mojito and found it too strong so she handed it to me. I couldn’t let her down so I finished that also.
Toro is found inside the Le Méridien hotel near Dania Beach.

The bar specializes in tequilas and I’m sure Sebastian, our waiter, told us how many, I just don’t remember. Let’s just say it is a lot.

The very, very expensive ones have a padlock on them and I assume the maître d’ is the only one who has the key.
We shared some appetizers and I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon for $68. It was really good. My side dish was potatoes 3 ways which was interesting. It had fingerling potatoes, mashed potatoes and tiny slivers of fried potatoes. My final tab came to $114. To be honest, that’s about normal for most Fort Lauderdale/Miami/Palm Beach restaurants. It’s cheaper than the Secret Garden that I like.
It was good to see Judith and Chris. Chris seems to be tolerating the chemotherapy pretty well. The only physical thing I noticed is he’s lost a lot of weight but that was before chemo began. It was a lively conversation all during dinner.
Jim and Holley left this morning (very early) for Kansas to visit Jim’s sister. I’m not sure I would be brave enough to go to Kansas in winter, but then again, I’m going to Mississippi during tornado season.
I didn’t sleep well (hangover, remember) and I got a late start to washing clothes. I can tell it’ll be a slow day for me. I figure read a little, nap a little and maybe pool a little.
Stay tuned!
