Pandemic, Tendon, Renovation – Part 7

Someone please shoot me! No one showed up to work today so that gave me some time to begin to put stuff away in cabinets and drawers – that still have no pulls. It also gave me some time to check out the new dishwasher by doing a load of dishes.

My Whirlpool Dishwasher!

I loaded it up with dishes, put in the detergent and started the washer. I had previously asked John, who is doing all the cabinet installation, to check to make sure the dishwasher was not leaking from any of the fittings or hoses. It wasn’t. The cycle is approximately two hours and it sounded like the dishes were being cleaned and everything was working the way it should.

At about the 30 minute mark, I happened to walk into the kitchen to check it again and there was water on the floor in front of the dishwasher. I have no idea as to why it is leaking but when I get the energy, I’ll check it out and see if I can determine what the problem is. I think I luckily got the water before it started seeping under the floor and into the new cabinets and new floor. At least I hope I did.

I had a doctor’s appointment today. I felt as though I was being affected by prostatitis. Lethargy, lower back pain, testicular ache, and low urine flow. The primary care doctor took my word for it but did a rectal exam and I provided a urine sample.

Did you know that as of July 1st of this year, the state legislature mandated that any physician wishing to perform a pelvic exam (also the rectal exam) had to have a waver signed by the patient? You can imagine this lead to an interesting conversation with the doctor and I offered the comparison to the legislature’s involvement in every day decisions in education. We commiserated with one another.

In any case, it’ll take several days for the results of the urinalysis to come back but in the meantime he prescribed me an antibiotic. I was right, the drug is sulfamethoxazole, a sulfa drug derivative. He said I would be on it for 2 to 4 weeks. I should start my own consulting firm!

I did manage to put away some stuff in the new cabinets and drawers. However, I started to start lagging around 5pm and I called it a day.

Stay tuned and stay safe!
