Pandemic, Tendon, Renovation – Part 12

2 September 2020

So far today, I’ve had two people in the house and I’m scheduled to have two more.  I might as well go to a Trump rally unmasked.  The first person was the Citizens Insurance representative.

He’s been super helpful and friendly.  As he went through the house inspecting the work done by Baxter Restoration, he mentioned things I had not picked up on.  For example, when I told him they did not re-grout the tile in the kitchen and dining area, they, with my permission simply acid washed the floor and then re-sealed the tile.  The Citizens rep said that the difference in his estimated cost of re-grouting and only washing and re-sealing could be refunded to me as part of my deductible of $2500.

As we continued through the house, I kept explaining how Baxter hadn’t done this yet or that yet.  We kept adding to the things that might get me more of a refund of my deductible.  I think we got up past $500 pretty quickly.

He confirmed the new upper cabinets have been approved.

After he left, the Baxter supervisor showed up.  He walked me through again what was ordered and what to expect when the construction crew showed up today.  He called earlier and said the crew would be at my house around 1 pm.  It’s now 3 pm and they haven’t shown.  The Baxter guy had been upset they did not show up the last time on Friday.  I can’t say that Citizens and Baxter aren’t trying to keep me happy.

If the crew does show up today, they will install the pulls on drawers and cabinets.  They will also put the new power cord on the dish washer.  I asked the Baxter rep to also have them put “coasters” on a piece of very heavy furniture and he agreed.  Now, to see if they show up.  I’m beginning to take it personal.

Since I was waiting for the Citizens rep and the Baxter rep, all I was able to do was my morning walk.  No yoga and no swimming today.  Bulk trash picked up the old lower cabinets so they are now off my patio and I can actually use it for its purpose.

And moreover they sell a segment of medicines viagra canada no prescription which don’t need doctor’s prescriptions. Whether the government agency repairs, renews or maintains water infrastructure, having an asset management plan that local and national infrastructure management practitioners could use now and cheap tadalafil tablets in the years to come is the right thing to do? Whenever you do that, you risk putting people in position of danger because they might respond a little overly enthusiastically and have people trampled. The last two nights I’ve had trouble sleeping.  Two nights ago I got three hours sleep.  I went to bed last night around 9:30pm and was wide awake at 12:30am.  It looked like another 3 hours.  I then decided to go to the CBD gummy worms a friend provided.  They contain 500mg of CBD.  I think about 30 minutes later I was asleep.  I waked at 7:30am this morning – a little groggy, but otherwise feeling fine.

I’ve tried Tylenol PM and Advil PM but I feel lethargic the rest of the day after I get out of bed.  The CBD seems to do the trick with a minimum of hangover.

The last few days, the Sun-Sentinel has provided data in different format than normal for the state. Today, they reported the total number of cases and the total deaths and new deaths but not the number of new cases.

Yesterday, they provided the number of new cases, the new deaths and total deaths but not the total number of cases for the state.  The method of reporting does not instill confidence.  Not only that, but the company entrusted with doing the testing, Quest Diagnostics, was fired by the state of Florida.  It seems they had a backlog of uncompleted tests.  Once they were completed, they released the new data, much to the chagrin of the state of Florida because it showed a large leap in the number of cases.

This leads one to think, how badly did Quest handle the testing?  Are their data reliable?  The Citizens rep told me of a friend of his who developed Covid.  The friend impressed upon the rep that getting the virus is really, really bad.  I suspect up until that time, his friend thought there was less danger than it truly is.

As far as I can tell, since March when everyone was encouraged to stay in place, I’ve been out of the house approximately 10 times.  Those were either doctors’ appointments or places I had to go because they did not deliver services.  Otherwise, other than my walks around the neighborhood, I’ve gone nowhere.  I admit the cabin fever is getting bad but the alternative is definitely worse.

I still get daily twinges in my arm – mostly when I make an unusual movement with the arm.  My back pain was bad this morning but since stirring around a bit, it’s much better.  The best way I can describe the effect of the lower back pain is that when I start walking, it makes me nauseated.

It’s a beautiful, hot day in South Florida.  Stay tuned and stay safe!
