14 February 2025 Happy Valentine’s Day
I hope everyone had a happy Valentine’s Day. I remember when we had to exchange valentines in elementary and middle school. I also remember those candy hearts. Holley, who teaches Spanish at the college, found some hearts with the sayings in Spanish. That was wild.
Speaking of Holley, this is Holley and Jim’s anniversary. Something about being married on Valentine’s Day to help you remember the anniversary, Jim?
My day started a little late. I stayed in bed until 8. After coffee and cereal, answering emails, more coffee and grapefruit, I managed to send out and receive a few texts.
Joel, John and I had lunch at the Rendez-vous Restaurant on Oakland Park Blvd. I picked up Joel and John and we arrived a little after noon. By 12:30 the place was packed and the two waitresses were running putting out fires all the time. The restaurant had decided to close at 2 pm in order to do two settings for Valentine’s Day at 5:30 and 7:30. We later heard one waitress say both had been filled and there was space at 9:30 so looks like they ended up with three seatings. Hopefully, those two waitresses for lunch were not on the holiday seatings.
Just as I was leaving, I ordered two chocolate croissants. After dropping John and Joel off, I ate both on the way home and no, I didn’t feel one bit guilty. I got home in time to do a little reading, a little napping, and a little food prepping for tonight.
The tv was delivered yesterday exactly at 4 pm (they split the difference between 3 and 5).

They took it directly to the bedroom. I tipped all three even though only one carried the tv in. Installation is scheduled for the 18th. They did not deliver the bracket with it so I assume it will come with the installers. So far, Costco has quit calling, texting, and emailing me every 30 minutes with status updates.
Stay tuned!
