Everything Fred – Part 507

15 April 2025

It’s tax day! Hopefully you got your return into the IRS in time.

It’s another Chamber of Commerce day in South Florida with temps in the high 70’s, sunny with a few clouds, and a very nice breeze.

The Gumbo limbo tree, often called the tourist tree because the bark peels, is shedding its leaves into the pool at a rapid rate.

It’s native to South Florida and is often planted as an ornamental. It’s self pruning in hurricanes.

By the way, I’ve tried to kill this tree numerous times but it keeps coming back. I finally gave up and it seems to be happy.

Anyway, I no sooner skim the pool and 30 minutes later, it needs it again.

The dental appointment went well. The dental hygienist is very, very good and pays attention to what she is doing. I’ve had those that gouge your gums and put you in a lot of pain. The dentist gave me a clean bill of dental health.

Again, today, I don’t feel well. I’m not ill, I just don’t feel well enough to really do much. I crawled out of bed at 9 am and I thought about staying in bed all day until I thought – leaves! They don’t care if I feel well or not. It’s a good thing I don’t have anything on the agenda.

Stay tuned!

After 34 years in the classroom and lab teaching biology, I'm ready to get back to traveling and camping and hiking. It's been too long of a break. I miss the outdoors and you can follow my wanderings on this blog.
